King Khan - The king of controversies?

Popularly known as the King Khan of Bollywood, Shahrukh Khan now seem to become the king of controversies as well. He has now become one of the most controversial star of Bollywood. This superstar had a non-controversial image during initial phase of his career but the recent controversies surrounding him are kind of tarnishing that "good guy" image. Besides his team's IPL win, bollywood is buzzing about his inappropriate behaviour which was highlighted a number of times in recent past. He had to deal with a bit harsh criticism   for his actions just because he is a star. But that's the price of stardom so can't help it!

Talking about the controversies, the year 2012 seems to be jinxed for SRK. It is sad that he is in the news for all the wrong reasons. His fans might not be happy with the way he is being projected and the way his actions are hyped by media. 

Controversies have surrounded this star for a while now. The news first came about Shahrukh's outburst in a party where he allegedly assaulted Farah Khan's husband, Shirish Kunder. This action brought Shahrukh in a bad light. Everyone had a different view of the story and media didn't spare him. He was subjected to all kind of criticism, several baseless stories were made up. However, the much-hyped brawl was later settled. Another controversy which surrounded the superstar was his detainment at the US airport for the second time. Though he himself let go the incident with funny sarcastic comments. The first time this happened, it was a big news across the country and resulted in trouble for the star, he himself was accussed of hyping the incident. Politicians and critiques accused that SRK is making it a big issue just for the promotion of his upcoming movie which was quite a silly accusation.

The list of controversies doesn't stop here, rumours regarding his married life added on to it. The actor was found in a link-up controversy for the first time in his career of almost two decades. He was linked-up with his co-actor Priyanka Chopra and the tabloids suggested that there are some tiffs between him and his wife Gauri Khan. It's difficult to believe this rumour as Shahrukh is always regarded as a family-man in bollywood. Hence, this rumour didn't really heat up. Niether Shahrukh nor Priyanka gave any explaination to it. May be because doing so would mean providing more gossip to the media!

Discussing controversies, we can not leave out the present most hyped controversial event- IPL. This cricket championship became more famous for its controversies. The Kolkata Knight Rider's co-owner, SRK landed in a legal trouble in Jaipur for smoking in the stadium during an IPL match. Also who can forget his brawl with the MCA? The association recently lodged a police complaint againt him for his alleged misbehaviour with their security personnel because he and few children accompanying him were resisted from entering into the ground. The MCA even decided to ban him from the Wankhede Stadium for five years. This incident led to a nationwide debate. The debate was whether Shahrukh was being an arrogant superstar, wrongly using his power or just being a protective parent? The trouble didn't seem to end for him. Some even accused him of showing his shoe to the crowd after KKR winning a match,  but according to SRK it was not a rude response to the crowd as it was interpreted. It was clearly a case of misunderstanding and wrong interpretation of his action. As usual, over-hyped. 

Well, his team's much awaited IPL win might heal the "controversy wounds". It is true that fame and stardom comes with a great price. This fact is the reason of trouble in any star's life. He is an iconic personality and millions of people look up to him. Fame brings loads of advantages but if we look at the other side of the coin, it goes hand in hand with several disadvantages and a lot of pressure. Because of his status in the country and overseas, media views his each and every action with a 'magnifying glass'. Unfortunately, nothing can be done about it.  Obviously he would not want more such controversies to centre around him. However, not indulging in a controversy is not completely in his hands!

King Khan might have learned a lot from such incidents and surely he would not like to be referred as the "king of controversy". He is undoubtedly the most loved star in the country and his fans would not want to hear such news about him, but rather more about his work, his movies because that's the thing for which millions of people love and admire him. People love him as an entertainer not as the "controversy King".
